I'll have a zoo once we move into a house I fear. eli wants hamsters, I keep putting him off with the we need a house line.

Hehe. Well, we did have a guinea pig for a while. But he went back to the school district when the baby came, too much work.

I brought a black widow home once. They are not common here so I was thrilled to find one in a nursery plant I had brought in from out of state. I put her in a cage and she birthed like 12 million babies the size of a period in the news paper.

I'm usually pretty ambivalent about spiders but >>shudder<<

At the moment I understand why folks get cats at breeders!

Hmm? My mom and dad's cat has a mean streak ten miles wide. One Christmas she nearly took off my hand as I reached under the tree to grab a package. Thankfully she's declawed, because she's super-aggressive. She could do some serious damage to you if she had claws. She doesn't meerly bat at your hand as much as swat it with as much force as she can muster. Mean thing. She was kept by them from a very early age. Just weaned.

Our cats are quite the opposite. Homer and Cleo were both shelter cats, and both are very sweet and docile. Anastasia was also a shelter cat, she's sweet, but timid.

I guess some cats just have a horrible personality.

That's funny. I did once bring home what I though was a hog nose snake. They are pretty benign. It was later pointed out to me that it was a cotton mouth which are no so benign. I had to let it go.

Ohh geez. Reminds me if when my friend stepped on a cottonmouth when we were kids. We just sort of froze as it went off into the pond. It was then that we decided we weren't gonna wade around in that pond anymore.

Sounds like how my mom and dad's cat is going to wind up. I fully expect that animal to go completely vicious..

Howdy everyone.

A co-worker just emailed me, turns out one of my photos on flickr was chosen by a local online blog for photo of the day. http://www.weeklyvolcano.typepad.com/spew/ (external link)

I thought that was pretty cool :)
