Can anyone recommend a good location to photograph the bay area at sunrise/sunset? I'm specifically looking for a view from atop the mountains on the Peninsula side of the bay. I can't tell you how many times I've driven down 92 from 280 and wondered where I could pull over to snap a shot of the awesome view.

another one from Monday evening.

Today is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival
http://www.voiceplaces.com …cisco-bay-area-3406116-e/ (external link)

11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Market and Second Streets
595 Market St.
San Francisco, CA 94105

When San Franciscans think Irish, they think pubs -- most of the City’s best watering holes bear the shamrock. Kennedy’s serves up $3 Guinness with a side of Indian food in North Beach, Foley’s handles the after-work crowd downtown, and the Little Shamrock has been on the corner of 9th and Lincoln for more than a hundred years. But the Irish have done a lot more than act as the city’s bartenders. Several of our streets are named after Irish families -- O’Farrell, McCoppin, Hayes, and O’Shaughnessy to name a few -- and the landmark Phelan building was named after Gold Rush-era Irish businessman James Phelan. San Franciscans of all backgrounds can celebrate that history March 16 at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival. Now in its 162nd year, the parade will feature Irish dancers, marching bands, and more than a hundred floats, with S.F. Fire Department Chief Joanne Hayes-White acting as Parade Grand Marshal. After the parade, stick around for the festival at Civic Center, with music from the Hooks, the Gasmen, and the Bushmills Pipe Band.

Walked out of the house to go to work this morning and thought this looked somewhat photogenic. I grabbed my tripod and took a couple of quick shots.

things are starting to bloom on Mt Diablo now, some great fields of poppies up there. Last year they did not get enough rain I think, hope this week's promised rain happens and gives them more water. Short drive in from Northgate and a short climb. Hope to head up there next week for a peek.

Mustard is coming up all over too, will hike into Shellridge sometime this week. Or next, if it really rains this week. That mud gets very slippery!

Anyone know of stores in the Bay Area that sell the GGS 3" LCD Screen Protector?

Just got a new camera and I don't want to use it until the LCD is protected.

thx
