Nice. Pot Hill?

No idea what it's called, but it's on the top of Texas St.

Arob1000 wrote in post #16012872 (external link)
Thanks!

Get yourself a Rokinon 14mm or a 17-40 at least, 90% of my shots are taken wider than 35mm.

Killjoy wrote in post #16012949 (external link)
Kenny's signature shows he's shooting with a cropped sensor. The 17-40 isn't going to buy him very much in the wide angle area since he's already got an 18-55.
Not sure about the quality of the Rokinon 14. But I'm pretty sure it can't beat the Canon 10-22.

Yep.
Totally forgot about updating my signature, just upgraded to a 7D a week or so ago.
The 10-22 is a sweet lens, but completely out of my budget. I've been scouring ebay for a decently priced one, but to no avail yet.
I was considering getting the Rokinon 8mm, which is a nice lens as well.

I sold my T3i and kit lens to upgrade, so as of now, I have nothing wider than the 40.
But I've ordered a 18-55mm STM lens, I've been playing with it at bestbuy and it's not a bad lens at all for the price I paid; reviews seems really good too.

Very nice one, Kinneykid. Looks a lot like a Bill Taylor shot. Very sharp.

Oh. When you said Pot Hill I figured you meant Hippie Hill in GG park. Which has no view anything like that. ;)

LOL. It's also known as Pot Hill from all the pot that people grow in that part of town.
Very close competition to The Haight. ;)

I thought the gate into this spot is locked. Is there a gate to get down to this spot? I went up there last time but had to turn back because I couldn't find the staircase to go down.

Yep, parked where all the tourists stand by with their point and shoots.
Ran onto the road, and down the hill, was a long hike, but worth it.

I should have mentioned earlier; the area is off-limits, please go at your own risk.
There are no stairs, just a dangerous highway, some cliffs, and a steep dirt hill.

Yeah, it is pretty sketchy but the view there is amazing, probably moreso in person than via the pictures I took. I need to go back with my TS-E 24.

Looked through his stuff, pretty decent.
I like his perspectives, but not particularly his style.
I do follow David Yu, though.

Perhaps get like a group hike down the hill.
People driving by will just see a crowd of photographers walking down the side of the highway like wtf is going on? lol
