You weren't in the air in 6515 July 21st overflying Americas Cup by chance?

I shot some of 6515 the other day. I do have a couple of the small boats though from different times.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it..

I live in San Francisco and was wondering if anyone has the Tamron 17-15 2.8 without the VC (image stabilization) that I can compare my lens with your copy. The reason is that it's tact sharp at 2.8 however, it requires that I zoom into 50mm and focus lock it, then zoom back out to whatever focal length I want. If I don't do this, then the 2.8 isn't as sharp. I don't know if this is normal or not. I've had other copies of this lens, but what's wierd is that at 2.8 at 50mm, it's out of focus a bit, however, the wider angle without any sort of fuss or adjustment is sharper than my current copy. Therefore, I'm not sure if this is a design issue or not and so I'd like to see someone else's copy if possible.

Thanks,
Gordon

Two rather minimalist compositions from Crown State Beach, Alameda, last Friday.

You can just park and walk up the hill to Hawk Hill. They close it in the evening from what I've heard and people just walk up otherwise. There are webcams looking at the Marin headlands to see if the hill is above the fog. At the gate would be below the fog level anyway so you wouldn't see anything anyway.

Yeah I knew we could have walked up but given the thickness of the fog...

Are the webcams useful for fog watch at 5 in the morning? I tried to look once and since it was dark and the bridge isnt' really lit up (like the Bay Bridge is), all I saw was pitch black
