G10 impulse buy pays off

I bought the G10 after posting in another thread how I was "done" buying photography equipment for the time being. On my Florida trip, the only lenses I brought along were the 500 f/4 and 100-400 zoom for birds. So the G10 has really been a great complement to those for any wide angle shots I wanted. I've really been impressed with the image quality and even in full auto mode it's way better than my SD800. I love the ability to shoot in RAW and use manual exposure. I'm really glad I made that quick decision to get a G10 before my trip! Here are a couple of shots I've been really pleased with.

Nice stuff. I do the exact same thing with my g10. I use it to shoot wide angle stuff and leave my other camera for other, longer purposes. great combo imho.

Thanks for sharing this. You've help me decide whether I needed a G10 or not and sure enough when it appeared on my Goldbox deal today I made the purchase. Going to Mexico in a few weeks and I don't plan on carrying my DSLR all the time. I guess one could say I made an impulse buy today as well

I am also enjoying my g10, I have never tried for close up candids with anything but paparazzi style mega mm lenses, I am having alot of fun getting up close like I was always told to do, alot easier with a quick little quiet camera and worth the trouble for shots that look as good as the g10 can produce!

Ooh, the G series are quite good for the portability. I love my g9 and hope that the dust issue never occurs.
