Wasn't sure where to post this, so if it needs to be moved feel free to do so moderators...

I have a bunch of great photos that were taken for our wedding. My wife wanted large format film shots so that's what she got. I would like digital copies so I can use them in the real freaking world. (no one has seen our wedding photos since the first year we were married.)

They all turned out great, but I want them usable. What is the best way to do this? who should I use or is it worth doing myself (I doubt that).

Are you talking about scanning from the neg's or prints? As for is it worth doing yourself, that depends on what you plan to do with the scans. If your scanning just for viewing on a computer screen, then I would say do it yourself and save the money.

Suggestions welcome.

We have both negatives and prints. What kind of scanning copier is worth the time and money

The cost is $1 per medium format negative.

For a small job one off job you're best off sending it to a professional. If you've got lots to do then it may be more cost effective to pick up a used Nikon Coolscan 9000 (if it will take your format) and sell it on when you're done. You should lose little or no money on the resale.

I don't think you're goign to find a large format (4x5 or bigger) scanner for very cheap.

Do they offer large format? I don"t see it. I have a bunch of negs to scan too.

I always want C&C on my shots.
