Hi,
I've posted some comments for the Ebay radio flash triggers before. I thought they worked relatively well after a mod but the real test came in and they did not hold up.
I have two transmitters and four receivers. The four receivers would have one or two not firing consistantly and a 4 hour session went to 6...
Stay away from them if you are working on portaits.

The one reason I didn't jump on ebay triggers is their reliability. If you work indoors, use optical triggers from flash zebra. theyre cheap and they work so nice. I have yet to do anything outdoors, though I'd probably need a radio trigger to do it anyway. I'll probably save up for cybersyncs.

Yep, I figure that out the hard way and my cybersyncs are on their way.

I did replace the batteries when that happened and still acting the same. One of them would fire automatically and then stop working until after I fumble it a little bit. Really is a pain in my neck.

You will be very happy with your Cybersyncs. Mine are perfect. Though not as full featured as PWs they are much, much cheaper and just as reliable. PWs are an overkill for most but do provide features some high-end photogs may need.

I used to use the cheap ebay triggers but same as you, once they really needed to work reliably they didn't. Perfectly OK for hobby use with people on both sides of the lens who have a sense of humour and spare time, but not when you're under pressure.

I now use the Elinchrom Skyport, which just works *so* much better, and is pretty good value.

I gave up on them a long time ago too.

Now I use one sync cord to the nearest strobe and optically trigger the others off the one thats corded. Haven't had an issue yet, and I can shoot at 1/250 reliably - the fleabay trigger would only work at 1/250 with brand new batteries... 1/125 was the norm.

Yeah they are horrible. I wouldn't even consider them "syncs" when they are in the same category as cybersyncs and PW's.

Mine work great. Not a single misfire or random fire.
Have used them indoors only.

no issues indoors that weren't completely explainable. Modifications worked well ( antenna to trigger, and 1/8" port to receiver). currently using them at soccer practices as testing, getting 95% reliability . I know this is weird but try taking the battery door off when you shoot, see if it helps while your cybersyncs are on the way.

My poverty wizards are horrible. They have no distance reliability outside. I get misfires every 2-3 shots.

Just ordered my cybersyncs.
