Good topic :)
Pretty GAS myself. Always have been with every interest/hobby I have. Photography is the killer though in terms of expense :)

I can easily see how photography can trigger GAS - "luxury lenses", pixel peeping, resolution, new camera models etc.

I have a bit of GAS, because I think my "needs" get fuelled by seeing what other people have. I really want a 5D and a 85 1.8, for example. But I want to constrain the GAS so that it never exceeds the boundaries for my photographic eye. I know what I like and I don't need to step outside of that. As long as you don't force yourself to get stuff you don't really want or can't handle economically, then I think you're alright.

To me GAS has two meanings: Guitar AS well as Gear AS. Guitar AS can be just as expensive. Fortunately, I build my own now, which leaves money for gear. Theoretically, at least.

Best,

Michael

I'm out of GAS right now, but took me almost a year. Ended up with 9 lenses! :(

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Canon T4i (2 lenses), Fuji X100s, Olympus OM-D EM-1 (3 lenses)

I'm more GUS than GAS the days.

I've been steadily unloading things I no longer use...
