I last used my 70-200 f/2.8 on August 11th, Its been stored in my camera bag since then, The bag hasnt really moved, Only from one room to another... Hasnt been bashed around or anything. Should I expect any problems when I go to use it again on Saturday?

Thanks.

Yes, you have problems wondering why you haven't been using it more often. Does it age sitting around? I suppose so but I think it might take 25 years for it to become stiff and/or have some issues.

There is Lack of Use Syndrome (LUS). But that is an issue of why such a good lens is sitting around not being used. :D

Well, you've got a few days before the weekend comes to take some test shots to verify everything is working. Always a good idea...

I think actually since it has gone so long it has depreciated in value so much so that it is now comparable to a nifty fifty in price.. speaking of which

give you 70 bucks for it :D

Glass is actually a fluid so leaving it for prolonged periods will cause the lens to sag thus distorting your images.
If you must store a lens for a prolonged period of time be sure to give it half a turn now and then, just like a vintage bottle of Champagne.

j/k

And don't forget to change the oil. Unless you're using synthetic, it's recommended to change it every 3000 shots or 3 months, whichever comes first ;)

No you shouldn't have any issues, but why are you not using it? There must be something else you can do with it. Heck I was pretty bummed about not using my 70-200, but now that I am trying out birding I had it attached almost all the time.
