Last thing I heard was that there was a mixup in manufacturing and a batch of the Canon 1971 Yamaha Mini Enduro CMOS sensor chipset was used, when in fact they should have been using the Canon 2008/2009 Hot Pixel Guaranteed CMOS sensor chipset. Please contact your local service center and ask them to replace the sensor, they'll be happy to help you if you just explain the above to them.

And, as already mentioned, please do record the call and let us know how it went. :)

Tell 'em POTN sent ya! Yippee!

Some of you members of FM and DPReview should post links to this thread and ask them for serious advice and assistance (no smileys) -- they may take pity on us poor POTN denizens:)!

Hi all, first post.

I have a real issue with my 100-300 lens. I don't get a different result at 300 compared to 100. I think that the zoom mechanism broke during testing.

That really sucks :-(

Obviously the inside of a macro lens cap.

Obviously the way to solve the duck with a lens cap on shot problem is the use a duck AS the lens cap. Obviously you might have some trouble getting the duck on the end of your 70-200 f2.8, but I'm sure with a little persuation it'd fit.

Good advice, but stay away from those third party E-bay ducks.

But why when you spend so much does Canon not supply it with a duck. When I bought my Stigma it came with case, duck AND vaseline!

I just came from an alternate reality where people were fussing about black dots like there was no tomorrow. Anyway, canon fixed those up with a firmware upgrade. Just hang tight and wait for Canon to release a firmware fix for you white dots. Okay, heading back to my other reality now, bye!
