Anybody know of any web sites out there that will give me some guidelines (starting at the beginning!) on how to use my D60 and 550EZ flashgun ?

Steve, are you sure that is the number of your flashgun?

I Have a D-60 and a 550ex as well. The best way that I have found to get good pictures is not to do anything but mount the flash in the hot shoe and take pictures. That was the advice I was given when I first purchased my stuff and it is the advice I will pass on. Don't mess with the flash just mount it and shoot, if you do you will lose yourself in unessesary settings. I take lots of pictures and use my flash daily and have never had a picture that was out of whack because of the flash.

Oops! I meant the 550ex of course, not 550ez :)

Yeah, this is one of those rare instances where I've printed something that's long enough to make me think about the price of paper.

Not only did I think that was an excellent tutorial (and I printed out the whole thing for future reference), but I printed out another copy to give to a beginning Canon user.

Thanks, Fat Guy. I was having trouble understanding how the flash worked in each mode, but that tutorial really helped.

Regards,

Chris.

You might alos try your local Canon dealer for the Canon publication titled Flash Work, published in 2000.
