5D MRK II On Back order till April?

I ordered a 5D MRK II 2 days ago... Then wondered why the funds have not been taken out of my account yet... So I called the customer service desk and asked... My response I got was " We are sorry for the inconvenience, but this product is on back order until APRIL, maybe longer..." I was shocked, then wondered if this camera is worth the wait... Or should I just cancel and get another crop body like 50D and then spend the rest of the money on a EF 70-200mm L 2.8 IS... ( I shoot alot of portraits,buildings,pl​ants,wild life,Zoo animals,Sea world stuff, my family and alot of self portraits... Soon to be Engagement shoots and Couples shoots)

I can't see any of those "big shops" like B&H or even Amazon would suffer that sort of long backorder. For others, can't say.

Where did you order from? B&H?

You must've missed a previous thread. Canon Japan is forcing workers to go home early and produce Canon babies. So there will be delays.

I have to order from the NAVY EXCHANGE store in order for me to take advantage of no taxes, 10K credit limit on my Military STAR CARD, and a great 3 year EXTENDED Warranty. (I am not in the Military, just married to a Sailor and I work for the Government)

With Capital red "L"s even.

Well, you weren't specifically talking to me, but i love mine! (disclaimer, I'm owner of the 5D2 wiki)

And as far as buying - sorry i don't have any tips about the military shops, but we're tracking online vendor status several times a day. Right now, we have 3 vendors who appear to be either having stock or close to it (one says delivery today). Keep an eye on http://****/JD54

I was #40 in October and I am still waiting for my 5D Mark II....
But thats for a local store here in Phoenix.
