Lightroom Tethering

Hi there!
I just started playing with shooting tethered on to Lightroom and is going good but I had a question I was hoping maybe someone had some experience with.
When shooting on to Lightroom the program shows the picture just taken and then copies it onto another folder for storage, when you take the next picture the previous one goes away to show the new one, so is not creating a bank of images so I guess the folder where all the pics are being copied too has to be re imported to view them all as a group. Is there a setting I have to adjust to get around this or is this just the way it is?

Thanks for any replys

No -- The Auto Import Inbox Folder is a temporary place for the tethered shots, then they are imported and stored in a folder and name of your choice and added to your catalog.

You can specify the import inbox location, the saved photo location, the naming style you want and things like presets, metadata and keywords in the File/Auto Import->Auto Import Settings... dialog.

Thanks guys

The video helped, since I'm running the first version of Lightroom I didn't realize there's a second monitor option in the newer version, which I guess you can point at the folder where all the pictures are being copied too.

I guess I'm due for an upgrade.

Cheerio!

When I auto import them i have LR assign a keyword. Then in LR I have that keyword selected so that all the images as a collective appear. If I am in full image view mode it automatically moves to the newest imported image. This way I can do a photoshoot and always have the latest one up on the screen without having to go over and find/select it to come up.

I've tried tethered shooting in LR 1.4 once, and I think it's possible to set up a watched folder, yet have LR "view" the folder where the shots are moved.

Been a while though, since I prefer to use DPP for tethered shooting.
