Hi guys :)

This is more of a joke then something serious, but considering there's free beer here in press center in Garmisch, you can imagine why all this, especially considering I was standing up the donwhill course for almost 6 hours and ended with both races canceled :)

Originally today's program would be pretty bad. Men downhill race would start at 11:00 and women Super-G race would start at 13:00. Considering photographers should be on course 1h before start, this would make me a bit of problems. Since women SG race would be more important, I decided to pick spot, where I could cross over to women's course after first 30 men skiers. But then all "fun" started. Weather was great on top of Garmisch skiing hill, but just few meters below thick fog layer started, and jury started to play their game of waiting and postponing of races. Women SG race was canceled around 12 and something already, and men race was keep getting postponed first for 30mins at the time, and for last hour for 15mins at the time. I was lucky enough to be standing together with few coaches, including Swiss coach who was connection coach (guy elected for connection between FIS race director, organizers, and teams) in this race. So we had our share of fun, not to mention snus consumption on that turn was one of highest on world :D, then we got information straight from race director, and on top of that, I had few nice ski turns above race course, on sunny part of ski place, with one of Slovenian coaches, when we got bored of waiting and we got info, race is postponed for another half hour.
So all photos from today look pretty much like this:

And that's me (R) and Andrej Mozina, Slovenian DH coach (L) while having fun during waiting... on big screen in finish area and on every TV around world who broadcasted this DH... So I got my few seconds of fame too :D

After race was finally canceled at 14:30 (I was up on hill since 9:15 or something), I got really fast ride down the course on skis... When all skiers are bombing down the course from start area, you can pretty much forget about doing nice GS turns, so I ended up doing DH race... with 15kg backpack worth about 15k eur on my back :D

And for some real skiing photos... yesterday's women SL in Garmisch.

That's all for today, because now I'm going to get another beer :D

I still didn't publish some nice shoots from last races in Zauchensee, but that will come in few days too :)

Have fun and greetings from Garmisch,
Primoz

And I thought taking pictures of outdoor hockey at -20 was tough! You are brave bombing down a hill with your gear on but I understand. When beer is at the bottom normal precautions don't apply ;)

The photos are great as always.

Looks like you missed the timing on #1 as there is nobody coming down the hill. Maybe you had some beer before the race
Just kidding, its good to see different type of shots as well
