Rugby at Ilkley

Local rugby match, taken yesterday, Ilkley, Yorkshire

All with 120-300 F2.8 lens, 1.4 TC, ISO 800-1250 dependant on light, around 1/1000 sec @f4

Good shots, just a shame there wasnt more attacking action coming towards you. I hate games like that, as it becomes much more of a struggle to get some standout images.

Did you consider cropping the lineout differently? I often prefer them to be portrait orientation.

My only real technical comment would be that 1/1000s isn't necessary, so i'd have gone for 1/640s and a lower ISO.

Thanks for the tips-appreciated , although I rarely shoot Rugby, it's great fun.

I'm sure there was attacking play coming towards me, but my inexperience in this genre probably let me down.
