Well, a couple of those error messages are referring to -x-system font, and X-windows is how OS X displays its windows, so possibly there's a problem with the underlying OS. Not being a Mac person, I can't help you beyond that.

Thanks for trying to help, to those who have posted suggestions. The thing that is so confusing is that this is ONLY happening with ONE thread. I can't help but think there is something different about that thread. I also think it is odd that it is happening with two different browsers, but only that same thread in each browser. For now, though, I will give up. I will post feedback on a PC somewhere. Thanks for trying to help with this.

I know its no help, but the thread and all links to it here work for me on both my macs running Safari. (OS X Leopard and OS X Tiger, Safari 3)
Very interested to know how you eventually solve it though.

Yes, that link works fine. Does that mean you now know what the problem is?

Yes, I would think that if this happened to everyone with any kind of a MAC, the moderators would have known about it before now. So I am not surprised. What does surprise me is that the Positive Feedback Thread is the ONLY thread that this happens for in my case AND that it happens for BOTH Firefox and Safari.

Maybe because it's such a huge thread, try this other huge thread which is pretty much the same size.

No... I expected it not to work as it and the market place are restricted threads.... strange.

That link also does not work.
Interesting theory--maybe that is the problem.

I know that in another forum that I belong to, they lock threads at 500 posts and start a new one with the same name and a number after it (II, III, etc.). Maybe that is why they do that--the thread just gets too unwieldy.

Good thinking.

Good to find the issue, perhaps the mods know of a solution from that. Good luck.

No that is not the problem, sorry. Even if thread had 50,000 pages it would load, (albeit slowly with Vb), if it takes too long (minutes) you would see timeout error instead of empty page. Only difference between you opening that thread and Anke opening that tread is browser/OS you use.

Also, if there would be any database error I would get it with your name and IP attached. There are none.

Try disabling JavaScript (not Java). Vb uses a lot of JavaScript.

OK, I just did two things in Firefox.

(1) I disabled ALL of my Firefox add-ons
(2) I disabled Javascript

I will try the thread and links again.

No, that did not help, and it makes other weird things happen, like when I posted the reply the rest of the thread disappeared and my reply was listed as #1, and also the text in my reply had things like <br> in them, which I have not seen before. Since I am still getting the blank page with Javascript disabled, I am going to go and check the box again.
