HI guys, just wondering how many of you out there are paid up members of the DWF ? (Digital Wedding Forum).

I've joined it as a Pro free for 7 days, and well, I can't see the major attraction, but then I'm not allowed to see the jobs section, and an few other areas, so is that what makes it all worth it ?

It's approx 120 bucks or about 80 GBP per year, to read a forum ?

I know it goes on about discounts, but TBH I'm struggling to really see anything that makes me go "wow!" .. most of the deals are pretty weak IMO.

Having said all of that, it's got 20,000 users apparently .. so what's the story as they say ?

Comments goood and bad pls , do you think it's money well spent, or do you wish you'd never joined it ?

Jim..

I'll listen in to this one - I'm quite curious myself.

I joined last week, still not sure what the big deal is. I also joined WedFog. Its $70, I'll update you on my experience if anything pops on WedFog.

Yes. Absolutely.

One thread there on business practices has made me an extra $20K over the past 2 years. Also it's good to be able to read about how professionals do things, and ask questions, POTN is a great community but there are very few working professionals here.

It isn't what it was ... quality wise - but still good

Yes its worth it. A lot of high level business discussions there specifically about the wedding photography industry. Very few questions about "what lens should I use" etc. It's obvious everyone there has been working in the profession for awhile.

Wedfog isn't worth it.

I thought I saw that they now offer a monthly subscription rate? Think it was $12.95 a month or something close to that? THat makes me more likely to join.

Yep $12.95 a month. Good way to see what it's like, then do the cheaper annual fee. It's not a tight fun community like POTN but there's a lot of valuable information from experienced pros. Check out the "best of dwf" forum.

I think it is definitely worth it. As with all forums a lot of the information gets repeated after a while but I have been a member for five years and I can't see myself stopping my membership anytime soon. It is also great for networking with other photographers and I met a lot of my closest friends on the DWF for the first time.

The Best of Forum is definitely worth a look and use the search option, there is so much great stuff from years back which is still completely relevant today.

Hope to see you on there..

Helen
