The Credit River is still flowing in some places, but it's frozen enough that i could walk on the snow and ice and take these shots. Any other time of the year, I would have to be in the river to take these shots. The HDR images were created in Photomatix, but I don't know if they are any good or not. Your thoughts?

I dont think this warrants a HDR because the range isnt really that wide. Haloing pretty bad around the trees too. I would just take the proper exposed image and do a little PP and then post it up to see what it looks like compared to your originals.

Agreed. These images could have been captured using a normal exposure.

That said, cool shots -- the first one in particular. Having grown up in PC myself, I've spent quite a bit of time hanging around the river. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments .... I was wondering about the halo effect over the trees, too. Seemed weird to me. I'm not that good at PP, so here is a non-HDR image:
