Now I LOVE Canon cameras I have 450D a G9 and a s3 Is and was going to purchase a SX1 now i have seen this new olympus the sp590 UZ and Love the spec
and I know appart from the cmos V's the ccd and the High def recording
what is the better cam? which one will give me the best for my money
I am not a pro photographer but i love taking photos and use all three of my cams on different occaisons but i did want to get an upgrade to the s3 Is etc the 20x optical is cool on the canon but then the Olympus comes in with 26x Opt so is it worth foregoing the extra features on one for the other

advise me :) or sway me lol :)

SX1 , if you really need / can use / able to manage or edit HD video clips.

SX10, if the above are not necessary. We looked forward to welcoming you to the family.

Plus SDHC cards are far CHEAPER than the Oly's XD cards.

At 20X zoom (or 35mm's 560mm), I rely a lot on the Image stabliser function as my handshake sometimes can be seen. Sometimes, high-speed shutter / high ISO will be limited help due to lighting conditions & side effects.

At 26X zoom, yes Oly wins & good to have, but how are you gonna manage the hold the camera steady ? Unless the zoom starts at (35mm's) 17mm or something.

Must admit I do Love Canons i own 3 already lol it was just a couple of the OL features the zoom 26 – 676mm equin 35mm that hit my eye and i know i use a mono pod if needs be for longer shots :)
i know the XD cards are expensive but it also uses micro SD :)

I like the idea of the HD but wonder would iuse it is the extra £££ worth it or go for the sx10 hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i dunno LOL
