OMG I am so excited. After days and days of looking for this lens at a nice price I found one...and less then 6 months old! Yay. I just had to share :) Can't wait until I get it!!!!!!!!!

IS it's very good sometimes but not essential.

I love mine. They are magnificent beasts. I also upgraded from the f/4L version.

I use a Manfrotto 681B monopod with one of these for it's quick release feature:

I got a few extra QR plates to put on the collar of my 400 f/5.6L and one on the bottom of my battery grip for ultimate flexibility.


Canon 20D w/grip, 300D, Powershot SX100 w/HF-DC1 flash, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L, 85 f/1.8, 17-55 f/2.8 IS, 50 f/1.8, 580EX and some other stuff...

Its a wonderful lens...I love mine. IS is nice, but depending on how you use it not necessary.
