So with the cost of camera gear shooting up rapidly, as well as cost of insurance etc.. And perceived skill levels ;) - I wonder how many photographers will be increasing their rates.

Or on the other end of scale, 1000D cameras aren't too expensive, along with kit lens and pop up flash, for entry range starting at a whopping £100 on a disc :p

Forgot to comment, would like to add my wishes and I hope you find something soon.

and Wazza

Thanks again; Just been reading a list of job descriptions. I'm fortunate that when I apply I will have an interview in front of a panel and it will be my opportunity to shine- I hate those timed tests etc

Good luck there!
I'll be looking in late April myself.

When I first got to London, I had an interview for the Heathrow Express. They had a numbers/recognition test first up.. They gave us practice sheets for 30min to play around with, which were 1 page for each question, of the same text configurations. And pretty much had to circle when it was a certain character/combination.

When it came to the test time, the sheets, became a 3 page long test on each combo. So I was circling the wrong characters, so obviously failed, and never made it further. Gah! Pretty silly really, when ideally I was probably a stronger candidate than the others around - just was thrown by the dummy question sheet vs actual.

Customer service..
Working on the trains/customer service etc.

Starting on £23/24k, so wasn't too bad for a first job in London

I believe so :)

Only thing, needed own transport to drive to either Paddington or Heathrow, depending where shift was starting.

And could run from 4am to 11:30pm I think. Almost 24 hours :)

Oh, and I'm sure it was 4 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on. So would be good for regular trips away :)

Yeah I need to start considering jobs in the next few weeks. Maybe apply for some before I leave. I'd rather keep my savings, and work right away and do some Euro travel later in year.. Although may buy a car again. Ahh so costly.
