Whilst I completely agree with what has been said about narrative/storytelling images, surely there's still a place for images that are simply pleasing to the eye, nothing more, nothing less?

Absolutely.

Images with a "story" are very powerful, but so are images with bright colours and interesting shapes - they just stimulate the mind in a different way.

I think its far more important to take a pictures that invoke a sense of feeling be it happiness or sadness within the photographer. Anything else is a bonus, after all whats the point of taking pictures that know other people like but ones you don't have a connection with.

Good point.

On a completely different point, i just uploaded a bunch more Hellingly Asylum shots to my website www.BridgensPhotography.co.uk (external link)

Could be helpful for those sitting on the fence for Sundays meet.
Not PP'd any of those images, apart from resizing and saving as quality 5 Jpeg's, so please don't be too critical!

Wicked pics rob and they would have so much potential for some really edgy PP!! Once you have gone to work on them then they will be awesome!

Hi Rayk, welcome to the club! :D You'll certainly fit right in here - your big cat series on your website looks great :D

So, what's everyone up to today? Boring old work for me.

I think we must've finished Chris off yesterday with all the critters! :D

Just bear in mind that there maybe some climbing through windows etc. involved, don't want you to bring down a ton of gear and then realise its got to be lugged around, through and over things.

Did you read the read the highlighted post I put up about Hellingly so as everyone is clear before making there way down
