Morning all...

Is it me, or is the forum a bit slow today!?!

At about 1030GMT every day, there's a forum backup. This takes up a few resources on the server and forum perfomance takes a hit....

Resorting to a new level of spamming!!

... when that happens, people like Mitesh get impatient and hit the "reply" button too many times and it ends up in repeated posts.

When I see them, I zap the extras, but I expect there's a few across the forum that reamain if they're not seen by the moderators.

Normally that should come up with a message saying that message has just been posted and returns you back. Got "Server busy" as it was attempting to post. So maybe not my fault. :)

In clicking too quickly, you launched a "denial of sanity" attack against POTN...

Basically, you get the "dupe content" warning when the forum reads back what you posted before. Since (during the slowdown) the forum couldn't read back your previous post, it just had to stack up your requests and let them go (since the previous post was made more than a couple of minutes before you lost patience).

I had to giggle at that. Sorry just dirty minded.

Anyone feel like going out for an impromptu meet this eve? I brought a bit of kit in to work today and think I'll head out towards bank area for a few early evening shots (particularly of the Gherkin, but other buildings as well).

It's looking ugly and overcast now, but it's not all that cold out so it should be ok.

Sorry I've not been around recently (work's been really busy of late). I just happened to run into this.

How are you enjoying the lens? As much as I do?

Hi Pete,

It is an amazing lens! Has to be the sharpest lens wide open I have, doesn't need any PP and at 100% it is breath taking! I just haven't had the opportunity to use it as much as I want to at the moment, did the usual pot shots to make sure it is ok ;-)a

Still trying to get the "separation" type shot you got ;-)a

When I've given it a good going over, and taken some shots  I'll post them here.

Someone should get that one posted earlier, IT IS WORTH IT!:-)

Glad to hear you like it. Some people just don't get on with the focal length, but it works great for me. And the fact that it's got blindingly fast AF is a good thing for me as well.

I looked at it and it does seem like I good deal. I really just don't have any more room in my camera bag!

Hrmm...unless I start storing the lens hoods separately...

Let me know how you get on with the V4's Victor/Neal, i may trade up from the v2s's if they are decent. I think the shape of the receiver alone is worth the upgrade because mounting the flash on top of a light stand with the v2 is a nightmare!

ooh speaking of flashes and triggers etc, my copy of Joe Mcnally's Hot Shoe Diaries just arrived.

Its allot of book for the £12 i paid - I know its Noink focused, but im sure i can still learn technique from it.

Its got lots of small chapters - perfect toilet book i think!
