My top end is bad but off the line, lot of torque to play with.

Agreed. Bonus since I drive from North West to South London daily.

The wonders of Photoshop. Dont stop. Its a pain to do and I doubt someone is going to spend ages doing it.

Unless its flickr, I rarely upload files larger than 800x533px sized files so too tiny to do anything with. I know you are new but I do giggle when you go by peopels forums names.

Bloody cheek. Thats only the morning after I have a curry.

Depends on how large and what form the watermarks take. Sometimes it can be difficult to remove them (more effort than it's worth). Somtimes if you use a watermark in a corner of the image it can simply be cropped out.

Watermarking is a compromise between obscusing/distracting elements detracting from your image and having a good image and making it easy for the watermark to be removed.

So what should 1 do?

elysium wrote in post #7638473 (external link)
I think you meant about the cloning.

Best way is this.

Yeah its huge but solid colours over complex parts mean cloning and cropping is bleeding hard.

Yeah I guess, I think i'm gonna make my watermarks more solid because mine are like this at the moment..

Oh how some people make me laugh.

A cousin of mine who I haven't heard anything from in about 6 or 7 years since I saw her at my nan's funeral, suddenly decided to get in touch today.
Her reason for doing so?
She saw on Facebook that I do a bit of photography and so decided to check out my website. She needs some promotional pics done and was asking me to do them for her.
No surprise to hear absolutely no mention of payment at all.

Ur better off adding copyright metadata in using lightroom and then adding a link to ur site on the bottom of the pic.. i only upload low res pics to the web anyway so at least it has my webpage on.

I don't mind doing it cheaper for friends/family.
It just annoys me when someone you don't hear from for ages suddenly contacts you because they want something.

She said congratulations on getting engaged to Lara.
Me and Lara got engaged 9 months ago and my other cousin (this girl's brother) congratulated us the same day I posted the news on Facebook.

I would prefer it if she just came out and said 'I need photos done. I thought you might do it cheaper because we're family.'

I hear ya. I get sooo many people asking even questions. I tell them point blank, if youa re interested in my work or services, they will be chargable and all the same services are required.

Its happened to me a few times. Aunt knew that I turn up to EVERY family event with all my gear. For my cousins wedding, they didnt tell me but they were going to get me to take pics for free. I found out that they had no photographer either so I made sure my gear stayed at home.

Funny saying that, no one in my family has even thought about taking advantage now. :)

Yup, I get that kind of thing too.

I had someone introduce a possible wedding client to me a few weeks back and she said "...I told her you'd knock your price down as I've introduced you..." and my reply was a flat out "No!". I was a bit annoyed by that one! The bride to be told me yesterday that she still wants to book me so I'm glad I stood firm on the price!

I had a phonecall from someone i kinda know from a job a few years ago today and it went:

hi Dan how are you, not seen you for ages, We should get together for a beer sometime soon.

Yea, Sounds good, so how u been?

So, Can you do some photos for my wedding?

Yes, Shall i send you my price list?

What, You mean i'd have to pay, thought we were mates?

I dont do pics for free, I'm running a business now but i can knock 10% off.

Ok how much would it be for the full day and reception?

£800 mate..

Sod that, i can get them done for that price elsewhere!

Ok mate, good luck with it all....

Thought you were a mate and could sort me out....?

I am sorting you out at that price but im not going any lower..

Ok, thanks for nothing mate.

Hangs up..

I get that sort of thing quite often and everyone wants to be your friend then they ask for photos!

The one thing that may be to my advantage is that she's a popular girl so it could lead to more work if I can make sure that everyone who sees the pics knows exactly who they were taken by. ;)
Still not doing any pics for free though. :p
