I was just wondering how you package your photos for your sports clients? I have some 8x10s and 5x7s I need to distribute and don't know what to put them in? Can you send me a link where you order your packaging from?

I use http://.clearbags.com (external link) The bags are archival quality and resealable. For 8x10 or larger, I put a piece of matboard behind it. The prints look great in them. Remember that your customer notices the quality of the packaging befor they hold the print and you know what they say about first impressions.

Thank you, I have been all over their site last night and this morning. I requested a couple of samples from the site.

Can you tell me exactly what you order? I was thinking the bags that seal on the outside, is this right?

After you put them in these clear bags do you put them in any other type of packaging, like boxes or gift bags or anything?

I know it sounds like stupid questions... but I want to be sure of what to order before I order.

Where do you order the mat board from? Is that the same as the foam board?

I can get back to you with actual item numbers. You do want the bags that seal on the outside. THe nice thing is that the way the seal is, there is no risk of the photo hitting it when it's removed from the bag. I have the bags in the sizes for the prints that I sell off line. Each print is in its own bag and then I package the all in a larger size one along with a note that, in part, says the bags are archival quality and ideal for storing prints that are not going to be displayed. I ordered the carboard form them also.
PM me so I don't forget and tonight I'll give you the item numbers of what I order.

I use clasp envelopes from Staples or Wal-Mart. Then use the cardboard pieces from yogurt cases from the grocery store I work at. Whole cardboard for 8x10's and they can be cut in half for the 5x7's. Cheap and inexpensive!!

Are you in the game? You can see various local Missoula County High School sports photos at http://www.mtmediaplus.com (external link) Check it out!

I agree, that's why I wondered about how you all package. I know some people get really fancy with pretty boxes and stuff, and if I did portraits I would too, but I wondered if that was neccasary with sports.

I appreciate all your help Mike!

now a days a lot of companies offer the ability to send out the products in normal boxes with no markings on them. Might want to look into that

That's one thing I like about ExposureManager. They package prints w/ my logo and contact information. The customer never knows it didn't come directly from me.

I didn't know that, that's cool.
Probably by next football season I will start a website that does the printing. I wanted to do a trial run through football and baseball season to see if it would be worth it for me. I'm surprised at how the turn out has been... and so is my DH, the reason he didn't question when I bought the 70-200mm F/2.8 LOL.
