I'm currently looking into buying either of these ball heads, but Im not sure which one I should purchase.

Over here I can purchase the Benro B-3 for $169, and the Benro KS/B-2 for $135-$129.

Could someone that has one of these heads chime in?

Please don't add in comments without validation. If you've tried it and had a problem with them, I'd love to hear what happened to you, and which model your purchased, as well as the span of time you had the head for.

I've read the twebster reviews, and the squiress. However I can't seem to dig anything up on the 2008 release, Benro B-3.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Similarly, if you've tried a specific model (please state), and loved it, I also would love to hear the feedback. Thanks!!!

Some times it take a bit of time for a user of this equipment to come out of the wood work.

As well search for Induro as that is another North American name for them.

I am using Benro products and LOVE them! I have a KS-0 ball head and a set of lighter weight 3 section carbon legs (not sure of model #... they are in my car and its 8° outside!) Both have performed flawlessly over the last year and a half. I picked this set-up as a second tripod/ head because I wanted utralight weight for travel. Weights about 4 lbs. total and holds my 10D w/ 70-200L or 300 f4L w/TC without problems. I also use it with my Nodal Ninja 3 for panos too. Ball is well made and rock solid for its size. Legs are a work of chinese art and Twist-locks are smooth and secure. Highly reccomended!

I'm sure you will hear plenty of folks who will say you should only buy Gitzo legs and a short list of "prestige" heads or nothing at all, but I feel they HAVE to speek up to feel good about themselves for spending WAY more than twice the price I paid. Some folks buy a BMW while others are happy with a car that runs fine and does the job you need it to... and IS PAID FOR! The guy with the cheap car will not be heard from (exept me!) but you can bet you will hear from the "BMW" owners justifying their expense.

Go ahead and buy Benro and with the money you saved buy your lady something nice! (Or a sweet pano head!)

Shane W

I was very close to get the Benro B-2 but went with the Markins Q3 instead due to the ms live 30% cashback :)

However, I have the Benro C-228 CF triopod and I think it's a very good one.

I'm trying to talk my BIL into a set of Benro tripod and head.

Well, there's this:

I'd avoid Benro ballheads.

I would also recommend Markins. I have a Q3T and an M20. Both excellent and very reliable.

I have a Benro C-157M8 tripod and KB-1 ballhead. Both are nice however I do feel the head has it's limitations. Doesn't feel the same to the other makes.

The legs on the other hand are great.

Fungry, could you elaborate on the KB-1's limitations? How long have you owned it for?

... and then there are people who buy stuff that is not so good and like to convince themselves that the paint job makes it work right. Different strokes, I guess.

Well everything is judged with respect to cost.

If the price is substantial for a ballhead $200+ then it has no reason not to be good.
But if the cost is below something like $100, then you can only expect so much.

Say if you could buy a KS-1 for $60... wouldn't you buy one ?

No, because when it falls apart I'd have an asset worth $0 and be sitting on a 100% loss. Maybe that'd qualify me for a $1bn loan though... :)

For some reason, the term "lipstick on a pig" comes to mind ;)
