Hmmm not sure. I think the 1 series buttons are built differently. I know what you mean though... I hate that halfway click on the xxD/xxxDs.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, heres a link to all of the pictures of my camera being opened up: http://picasaweb.google.com …jw-ekOE4k&feat=directlink (external link)

Back on topic, what color are you trying to change the LED's to?

You could get some color changing ones to really mess with people.

Why bother. There is a BIG chance of screwing up your camera, and even if you don't, it will be worth less (worthless?) if you try to sell it.

Not sure it would be worth it since the in camera jpeg previews aren't going to be any higher resolution.

That's just not going to happen. You would need to swap out waaay more than just the screen, but it's fun to dream.

The LCD controller would definitely be different.

I just want to change the top LCD LED to a different colour other than orange...
and changing the black hotshoe to the one from the 1D Mark III, better weathersealing :D (but that's easy)

If you're going for better weathersealing I would check out the dial near the shutter button, when I opened the camera up I could see that the area around that dial is open for all the world to see.
