Here are a few of my attempts from a couple days ago. Thanks for taking a peak!

Red-tailed Hawk in the morning light

Bald Eagle - nothing compared to some I've seen here but this is as close as an airborne eagle has come to me!

Great light in the first image. Absolutely love the 4th image (seeing Raptors on the ground gives my chills for some reason..maybe it's just the fact of them being out of their element) and a great in-flight on a BE.

Excellent set all around.

Very very nice series and I love the lighting on the first, the close up is my favorite but the little Kinglet runs a close second for me!

Very nice series Dennis with the last three competing for my attention...The Harlans flight shot is I think my favourite one here...I had never even heard of a Harlans Hawk...

Thanks everybody for taking the time to look and comment! I appreciate the kind words!

Mike, yes these were all taken at the Ridgefield NWR in Washington State.

Gary, the Harlan's is a subspecies of the RTH but has longer wings and usually migrates further than RTH's. This one has been at the refuge most of the winter but is unusually skittish and often flies when it sees me approaching in my vehicle. When this one flew by, I had initially thought it was an imm. baldy but realized what I had when I got it up on the screen.

Great shot of the Harlan Dennis, something I have yet to capture. I usually am just seeing the tail feathers going away from me. The hardest subject to capture here though I think is the Kinglet, tough guys to catch not moving, you did very, very well!

Thanks Gary! It is a beautiful bird--this one stood out for me with more of a rufous color than most I've seen, which are usually just a dark brown. Appreciate it!
