Lighting for cars - Gels?

Do you guys use any gels for a night shots with off camera flash?
I always get the flash a little blue of the car... :confused:

I used flash for the trees & tail light reflections in this:
Malibu in the snow.

I always get the flash a little blue of the car...

Not sure what you mean. Did you white balance?

The only reason flash will turn out blue, or any other colour, is if you (or the camera) are altering the white balance to compensate for ambient lighting such as orange sodium vapour lamps. Colour balance is about matching the colour of your lighting. Even if all the lights, flash, ambient, whatever, are all orange, green or blue, once you set the correct white balance on the image they will all look the same and white if that's what you want. You can gel flashes to match the lighting.
