hi, guys i am new to this forum and need some help i recently got a REBEL XT
but the little spring popped off i dont know what do you call it but here is a picture

From your pic and from looking at my XT it looks like the spring which actually actuates the mirror, so I'm going to say you have to bring it somewhere to be fixed or send it in. (That is what I would do anyway, I'm not handy enough to attempt something like that, others may feel differently.)

Yes, that's the mirror. It flips up and down when you take the photo, so it's a critical part of the camera. I'd be sending my camera back to Canon ASAP, or returning it to where I bought it for a swap!

Can you post a bigger / clearer picture? As far as I can tell from that shot, the arrow is pointing to the reflex mirror but I'd hardly call that 'a little spring' :confused:
