hello, yesterday i took a few pictures of black cars and found that i had to discard all the pictures, no details showed up (the shots were indoors), it just looked like a black hole. what are some good to know techniques to show the details of a black car indoors and out?

It would help to see some examples of the results that you were getting.

The short answer is to properly expose the image. :)

in the 2nd picture, i had to turn up the exposure a bit in raw editor. any brightening after that shows way too much noise, most pictures came out like pic #1

Indoors you're at the mercy of the show lighting which usually means that you're screwed. ;) Outdoors is much easier if you wait for the best light & MOVE YOUR FEET!

Black cars only consume reflections, but not direct lighting. That is why, the above references has so much spot, because the lighting in the showroom is direct. Here is an example of my work. All about lighting around the environment.
