Great work Perry.

I agree though that it would balance better if the lower right image also had some piercing eye contact.

=Pete's Prints;7283561]Thanks for the lighting setup. I have been wanting to do some portrait work for sometime and am looking into the light setups right now. These images are very, very good. Thanks again for your light set up and sharing the images. Pete

No problem - the 285HVs are a great cheap way to setup a simple studio - very affordable, portable, powerful, and reliable. Grab some triggers, stands, umbrellas, backgrounds, a grey card, and you're good to go. The only drawbacks are that you don't have a modeling light and refresh times aren't as good as the big studio strobes, so you have to take your time a little bit.

#1 has a completely different feel to me than the other photos (maybe it's the B/W :P). I like it more than the others to be honest, but doesn't seem to fit.

 I agree with you. The only reason I made a composite is because Model Mayhem only allows 20 slots in your portfolio for images, so instead of taking up 4 slots...:D

WoW Perry. I don't know what it is about the enlarged version, but it stopped me in my tracks, (or, scrolling, if you will)...Stunner son. Nice big eyes with deep pupils. Awesome shot and extraordinary conversion.
Still staring...

Thanks Sam, that one's my favourite too and I didn't think the little composite version did it justice. Glad ya like it, I'm quite proud of it.

Very nice. I especially like the first and last shots. I think #2 would be better as a full body shot. Great advertising shots.

Hey there PG....nice shots! Did you edit her eyes in this one? Her pupils look huge. Really adds to the intensity of the look, IMO.

Thanks, I was definitely going for a bit of a commercial look, and I agree about the 2nd shot but the full body ones didn't have as nice of a pose. The dress in 2 and 4 is great, it really makes the look.

Nope, didn't alter 'em - just went with my standard work flow + the conversion, those are her actual eyes :D. I love huge pupils, and I'm pretty deliberate with the lighting in my home studio to get 'em that way, ambient is not too bright. I find if you pause a little between each shot (which I need to do anyway for my flashes to recharge, lol), the flash contracts their pupils a lot,so as they readjust back to the ambient, the pupils get pretty huge since, and it looks great.

I've found that many girls with blue eyes have very large pupils in normal light. When it gets dim they really get huge. Its cool indeed. Maybe all of us do that, but perhaps its more noticeable in blue-eyed people?
edit: except on the composite photo, it looks like she has light brown eyes? What color are they Perry?

Excellent! And thanks for the tip. Really liking the style I'm seeing....and if the tone has gone down-hill in the G&N forum, why the heck did I work my behind off to get 500 posts on here!?
