Clemson lost 65-61.

C&C welcome.

Shot with 400D + tamron 28-75 and 30D + 70-200 f/2.8, with only light NR, USM and brightening etc. I'm pressed for time, or I would have tried to do a little more NR/smoothening. Exif intact.

This must of been a great game to shoot. Nice action in your shots.

I know you were pressed for time but they definitely need some more NR. I also think a few need better crops with some dead space..for example the first and last two could lose the crowd over their heads. Also the last pic is oof.

Agree with Chris. GREAT action shots, crops are a bit "tall" for me. Several have WAY to much going on up top. If you crop them down (vertically from top) you'd still get plenty of stands and orange shirts in the BG.

I'm asking what the stands all the way up to the rafters add to the photo. Answer? Nothing!

One thing I always do when cropping my basketball shots is get the action first, then look at the BG to see if there is anything worth keeping there. If not, I try to take it out of the finished image.

I'll agree on all points so far. Great action, the crops need work to drop some dead space and I think the noise is more from the fact that you over-brightened these too much. I'd go back and really tone that down a good bit and add a little more NR and I think you'll see a huge improvement in the final product. Watch the horizons too, a couple are pretty sketchy.

Good tips all around. Appreciate all of them. It was a great game indeed. I missed out on some kickass player-almost-falling-on-me shots and some more action. It would have been more fun if we'd won though.

Namasste has it right, I over brightened these shots for the paper, and that is why its so noisy.

I might re-do these from RAW once I have some time, I know I can pull out better quality than this.

Thank you for the critique :) More welcome.
