I'm trying to decide where to go for a week or two holiday in first two weeks of June. I mostly just want to get out of town and relax. But I also want to go someplace that I can have fun playing around with my camera.

Now I don't drive, so I must be able to get there by Plane. And must either stay someplace with lots of interesting places to take pictures, or they have to have a good transit system.

Now I have been thinking about going to San Diego, which means I could spend a couple days visiting the Zoo, the Wild Life Park, and Old Town. Then take the train north to Oceanside for a couple days to relax on the beach. But I'm concerned that they may have more fires this year like last year.

Anyone have any suggestions on someplace interesting to get away for a Holiday and take some pictures?

Thanks,

Evan

San Francisco has lots of great things to see and shoot. But I'm not sure I'd say it has a good transit system. It covers the city, but it's sorta broken down. Still OK if you avoid rush hours. And there are the cable cars and BART, of course.

Stay on the strip in Las Vegas; lots to see and do, and take pics of, in a relatively small area.

Bring money... our economy can use it ;)

Oh, and don't worry, it's a dry heat!

My last visit to San Fran wasn't all that pleasant. Especially when the Police blocked the road in front of my brother and covered the body laying in the middle of the street with a blanket. Someone had decided to use him for target practive in broad daylight.

But the Bay Area is a nice place to visit, but not what I was thinking about this trip.

Maybe for a weekend, and catch Cirque Du Soleil (external link) but not for a 2 week holiday. I don't have that much money and that's not quite the type of wildlife I like to take pictures of ;-)a

Yeah, two weeks is a bit much. And I like the other kind of wildlife as well, but I didn't know your preference. Staying anywhere for two weeks without driving makes it kind of tough.
