BTW, www.photozone.de (external link) has reviews of some of the CV (Voightlander) lenses. The Voigtlander brand is owned by Cosina and that factory now produces the new Zeiss lenses. I don't believe they are producing any of the CV SLR lenses at this time, but most are available on the used market and some, like the CV 58/1.4 are still available new.

Sure...I shoot a bunch of them...just check my gear list for a run down. For overall image quality, they're hard to beat for the money. If you shoot landscapes where AF is not critical, these older MF lenses will put many of the modern lenses to shame.

Matter of fact, I have two really nice Oly wide primes for sale, each complete with an OEM/EOS AF-confirm adapter and ready to go...just slap them on your EOS and start shooting. If anyone's interested, drop me a PM...I'll probably post them in the sell forum or put them on ebay shortly. Here's what they look like on a 5D:

I use a Tomioka Auto-Yashinon 28/2.8 DS-M, and Zeiss Planar 50/1.7. Requires some getting used to but they're full of character!

I will be soon - Nothing great, But I wanted to try out this Zuiko auto-s 50mm [f/1.8] I had at home, so I've ordered a OM to EOS mount. I'll try it out and see if I can get some old colour in to the pics.

The lens really needs dust removal though from the inside. I can't open it my self (don't have a lens spanner/wrench) for the lens ring, will have to take it somewhere.

UPDATE!

I started a Thread for posting images from our Lenses used via Mount Adapters:

https://photography-on-the.net …ad.php?p=7292325#poststop

My Hope is to get a Thread Going that we all can use as a reference like the Lens Image Sample section provides us for the various EOS mount lenses. If we can have a little success I think we can get it added to that section as a permanent link.

As for image posting, I was quite nervous about it, but I used my previously disused flikr account to upload them and fairly easily added them to a post. WOW - EASY! I just had to know what to cut and paste! Ask and I'll share the way I did it. I'm not a programmer, I'm a photographer, and I was afraid of opening a whole can of worms, but it was no problem actually.

Wanted to make my 100th Post an interesting one!

Are there any Lens Adapter Users lurking around POTN at the moment?
I use an a Zeiss Pancolar 50mm f1.8 on my 20D via an af-chipped M42 Mount adapter with very nice results. I even did some nice high school baseball action with it last spring!
Which Lenses and Mounts do you use?
How successfully?
Richard :D

I have my alternative glass listed in my signature. I still need to pick up a macro lens of some sort, and am currently waiting to purchase a Tokina 17/3.5 SL (C/Y mount) once the seller's shipping situation is figured out.

I have a small collection of adapted lenses for my cameras. I prefer using them for macro work especially.

For what Zuiko 50/1.8's cost you should probably just pick up another one... I got a pristine one from KEH for all of $8 (It was listed as BGN though).

Don't let their little size fool you...there's a lot of IQ packed into these little gems. An added bonus: if you do any hiking while shooting landscapes, they are extremely light and can fit in your pocket...try that with a 24L or 35L. ;) If you shoot cityscapes or urban shooting, they're also very unobtrusive.

Can use any of my very extensive system of OM lenses on my Canon with the adapter with chip. I use only very fast lenses, wide open or near wide open in low light situations, however, as the manual aperture is not conducive to use at small aperture settings. As a result of having some fast Canon zooms, the only OM lens I have a real reason to still use is the 135mm f/2.8 or the 24mm f/2. The 24mm PC lens does not have sufficient FOV on APS-C to warrant its use, which is the only real reason I have, even today, for wanting to get FF digital body.

Adapted -

Takahashi FSQ106N. Possibly the worlds most color correct optic in the 500mm range. The 500/4L EF IS can't even compare to the optical quality. This is coupled to several different cameras...EOS 1Ds Mark 3, Nikon D3 and my favorite, a Mamiya 645AF with a Phase One back. Virtually ZERO CA, virtually a perfect flat field with ultra low distortion.

Astro Physics 130EDT, 155EDFS. Big scopes. Also with custom adapters to fit the above cameras.

But I definitely want to try the Coastal Optics 60/4. Nobody has ever shot critical star fields with this that I know of yet.

You can basically make adapters to fit any optic. Precise parts (astro company) can make them.

WOW - I didn't know Voigtlander was making SLR compatible lenses! I thought they were in the Rangefinder Mounts only! I'll have to look around on that idea FretNoMOre, Please feel free to PM/post any links on that front if you care to.
Thanks

Oh hell yes they do. The 125 2.5 APO is one of my dream lenses, simply an astonishing piece of glass.
