HDR Photoshop or Photomatix???

I have Photoshop CS4 but I just wondered why a lot of people on this site use Photomatix software when doing HDR work.

Anyone able to explain the difference's.

For a more useful answer check out these two Photoshop for Digital Photographers (external link) Podcasts. They talk about HDR in PS as well and the much hailed Photomatix and the differences.
