Down the Line is an annual benefit show for the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne which features local artists covering legends of music. This year's show was particularly good as all of the performers were well suited for the music that they were covering, and the sold out crowd really got into the tunes.

Awesome shots as always, friend -- I actually like a lot of the shots in your Zenfolio gallery better than the ones you've selected.

If only I could learn how to focus again. I was bewildered at the amount of shots I botched...

Thanks, and yes...I'm terrible at self editing. I usually try not to take too many shots, so I don't have to worry about picking which ones I like best.

That sucks about your AF woes. My camera seemed to work pretty well other than locking up a couple times (and the usual operator error). I ended up with some goofy compositions from concentrating too much on putting the AF point where I wanted it.
That was probably the first time I've ever really wished that I had a 70-200 instead of the 135...too much was going on to be stuck at one FL.

Lessons learned: Don't worry too much about blowing the whites...they're mostly recoverable. Don't worry so much about reach, with 21mp you can crop like crazy...I really could have shot a lot more from further back.

By not too many I mean that I only nearly filled both my 4 gig cards w/ 500 some shots...really not a lot for 6 bands, but still more than I like to sort through at one time. I didn't even leave myself room for any video...I need more cards! ;)

7 is a good angle. Nice set overall. You're right, 500 is not a lot for 6 bands. I did around 600 for 1 band (5 band members) this past weekend, but then again I tend to shoot a lot of frames.

What focus point do you generally use? Many of these feel a little bit too centered, and using one of the outer square might help. 8 would be a lot better if her head was positioned in the top half of the frame to allow for a little more body.

I do use the outer focus points, but they are still relatively centered on the 5DII...maybe I should make an effort to shoot a little wide to give myself some more room to crop. 8 was just one of those shots that you don't really think about. I'm not really sure why I shot it that way, it doesn't look like something I'd normally do...and that is kind of why I like it.

I appreciate the feedback.
