Hey folks, I haven't been around much lately so here is my coming back post. On Saturday I went to the Eagle Watch festival in Sheffield Mills Nova Scotia.
Local poultry farmers feed the Eagles dead poultry which gives the wintering population of Eagles a great source of food. This was I believe the 18th annual festival.
What an experience! There were upwards of 65 Eagles at this feeding location and once feeding started it was hard to get just 1 Eagle in the frame. For more info Google Sheffield Mills Eagle Watch.

I took over 600 photos in 20-30 min so I am still in the processing mode.

Ah, you did captures some eagles Trevor, love #2 with the feather detail. Can you tell me exactly where you got these, was it right at the hall, did you shoot from the road or go into the field? I might get down there yet this year and any tips would be grateful.

You did good,

I Love my Canon,

Fantastic shots Trevor, although that first one is the most striking. Looks like a lot of fun and a great photo op. :)

Thanks Darrell, The hall is on one side of the field, the feeding site is on the other, you drive around to it and park on side of the road. They have people and pylons just inside the fields so people don't get too close, but still have a great view. I wish I had a 500 or 600. I think I still have the map they gave me, I'll try to take a photo of it and send it to you, if not I'll draw one.

Thanks Mitch. The lighting was harsh from the side so the ground shots were difficult with the snow. If the bird turned it would be half in shadow, or the head would be in the harsh light. But i'm not complaining. What an experience.

Great pics..
1)&2) are great
3) I would crop out the birds head on the left
4) Great
5) Head in the bottom left spoils shot cuz it draws attention away from main frame
6) Try cropping out all the other eagels
7)&8) Great

Thanks Flaky, this is the first pass through and I wanted to show the numbers of Eagles, I will be focusing on individuals on the next round :D. I did however miss the head lower left of #5, tks!
