Directly. Bit "scary" perhaps but as you can see from this post, he can be trusted :)

well after reading this post im very impressed !! have had a few quotes from ian for various lenses.

do you guys all deal with him directly or through his ebay shop.

it will be my first time buying from him, its taken me a while to save up for the lenses and i was just a bit dubious about depositing such large amounts of cash straight to his bank account!

(in no way am i saying he is dodgy) , its just the first time i have dealt with anything like this.

cheers

He used to be able to offer pickup for cash in Wakefield. Nottingham to Wakefield is only maybe just over an hour's drive.

It may be an option for you if it's still possible to pick up in person in Wakefield.

Has anyone paid Kerso with Paypal? I have the money in my Paypal account to send him but I think he's really busy so hasn't got back to me about that side of things. I just need to know if he does or not so I can start the slow process of transferring the funds in to my bank account then bank xfer them across to him.

Don't worry about sending money directly into his accounts.
I've got my 70-200 IS f2.8 this way. You can use paypal it'll be quicker but it'll cost more.

How much more? Is it the typical 1.4% + 20p Paypal thing?

Kerso (Ian) told me but I forgot. You better off asking Ian.

I've messaged him a few times but he hasn't replied with that specific information. Being in different time zones means conversations can take a little while :D

When I bought my 70-200 2.8 IS from Ian recently, he charged me his usual price + 2% for using PayPal. Very reasonable.

Currently waiting for my 500mm 4.0 IS from Ian :D

despite my 100-400L lens being fixed at the repair centre (obviously not Ian's fault), Ian has been more than helpful in assisting my warranty claim. So good back up service as well...:)

Thanks Nadeem, Sorry you got a problem, this is the first time with this particular lens. Invoice should arrive early next week so no problem. Best regards Ian.
