Another successful transaction with Ian for me. Lens arrived friday morning.

Another positive experience here, just need some better weather to get out to use the gear.
Peter.

First purchase experience running now:lol:

Got a price for the 24-105 IS sent cheque with covering letter to 'tick all the boxes', being banked today. In PM comms via POTN though slight confusion in that he asked for contact details, sent but asked again so not clear if that PM was lost in the POTN ether or not ~ I do dislike emailing or electronically sending any personal info using unsecure methods

Asked for him to confirm when despatched and advise me of the tracking number.........just need some patience now for that nugget of info and the squeal of delivery van brakes....;)

Oh did you get the UK invoice with the lens or did it follow on under separate cover?

Trying to wait patiently....

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Does anyone know what his price for a 40D is at the moment, I already pm'ed him but too impatient to wait .

And would the warranty be valid in the UK, this would be the first time buying a body from him and figure theres more that can go wrong with a body than a lens.

i think the 40d was about 550

edited: that included the cashback but that price he gave me was b4 the price drops in the uk so i guess it might be cheaper from him now

Yeah you'll have warranty. My 1D2n from Ian died and Canon fixed it under warranty.

Thanks for the replies, he's out of stock at the moment so im just gonna wait till he gets new stock and see what the price is, lots of places seem to have the body for 600-620 now so i hope he can beat that.

Eagerly awaiting my 24-105, as mentioned this is my first purchase from Ian and I am curious as to timeframes etc. The money cleared into his bank on Wednesday and he is sending it next Monday ~ I know I sound impatient and I do accept that delays happen but with no prior experience is this par for the course with Kerso purchases? It would have been nice to have had it this weekend

Also I asked him (in PM comms)who he uses to do deliveries so I can 'think' ahead if they card drop me because no one was in to accept the delivery. So how have your lenses come and did you get the tracking number?

TIA for your other purchasers experience feedback :D

Yeah the thing about buying from Ian is it does take time but dont worry you'll get it. Everything I have bought has come Royal Mail Special Delivery. I've never asked for (and never been given) a tracking number but if it is getting posted Monday you'll have it on Tuesday

Neil

Hi Neil & TJ

Thanks for the feedback, RMSD is good especially as a non delivery means it goes to my very good (smallish) village Post Office ~ much rather that than City Link and other such carriers who are a few miles distant and who have variable ability to find any parcels in their own buildings

Re Tracking numbers, well if it is being sent by such a method (and so they should bearing in mind the values involved) then knowing it is in progress and on the way is good to know
