Mitsuki 135mm f/2.8, first time I have used this lens, which I got for free, the wide focus ring is great but the minimum focus distance is quite long.

ok heres the mount help a brother out the cap for the back saids minolta but idont think is the original cap

It looks like a Minolta MD mount. You have 4 choices:
1. buy one of the adapters on eBay that don't have a correction lens but let you use this as a macro only lens (anything further than a few feet will be out of focus)
2. buy one of the adapters on eBay that have a correction lens. you'll probably pay more than what you paid for the lens and image qality will be very mediocre because there's a extra piece of cheap chinese made glass between the lens and the sensor.
3. take the lens completely apart, start drilling holes into a m42 adapter and try sanding or shimming until you get infinity. I would not go through this much trouble unless the lens was something spectacular like a Minolta 58mm F1.2. Although looking at your pics, in your case it may be very simple to do.
4. Donate the lens to goodwill

Photography is not defined by what gear you own.

Today my adapter came but they sent me the wrong one. I ordered one with a flange and received one without. They're sending me a new one and I get to keep this one too. So, not too bad at all.

Anyway, despite the missing flange I could finally take a few test shots with my MF lenses. They are:

Meyer-Lydith 30mm f/3.5
ECB Fujinon-T 135mm f/3.5

I knew the Meyer wouldn't work on the 5D, but I had hoped it would on a 1D body. Alas. Mirror still gets in the way. So I took some shots with the 40D. The image is uncropped. Focusing at this close range was easy, but 2 or 3 meters away was quite difficult.
Here's one test shot of what was in front of me on the desk (so it's not a creative shot or whatever, just a test shot):

Now the Fujinon 135mm. As I could only shoot it wide open (no flange) that's what I did. Here's a test shot of the same subject. I cropped out the empty space left and right.
I am mightily impressed by the results and I am already totally in love with this lens...

What mount are they that won't work with full frame?

^^^They're your ordinary M42 screw mount, but the flange focal distance on a full frame Canon camera is shorter than on a crop body and with some of the MF lenses, like the Meyer-Lydith 30mm, the rear of the lens hits the mirror when focusing to infinity (and you can't take the picture).

Picked up a 55mm F1.7 'Rony' lense with Pentax mount.

IMAGE: http://iforce.co.nz/i/bfmiqxn1.mvt.jpg

Bit of an odd size for a crop sensor, but was dirt cheap and takes some alright pics!

It's a bit rubbish at F1.7 though, but given its absolutely tiny size and weight, there's no reason not to chuck it in the camera bag.

^^ Not really odd size. Field of view similar to "85/1.8 on FF".
