the latest firmware was supposed to fix much of the laggy AF speed.

maverick, did you update, yet?

For street shooting if you need autofocus the M is way way too slow. That's what I purchased it for and was disappointment, even after the firmware update it take 2-3 seconds to lock on most of the time.

I swear there must be something wrong with yours, or you're doing something different from me. I had only my M and my EF 35/2 in Hartford last weekend and I had zero issues with its AF speed, even at night, and I used Multi point AF most of the time.

I'm actually taking it to Canon Irvine soon, I'll make a video for you tomorrow so you can tell me!(I'm hoping it's just my body but several videos on youtube show the same thing.)

I think I'm doing everything right, have newest firmware(flashed twice), single shot, single zone focus I'm shooting beyond the MFD. I set a single point to a contrasty area, Continuous auto focus turned off, don't even touch the focus ring.

Anywho back to MF lenses, my cousin got so lucky today he got a pentax body, with a pentax 50mm 1.7,pentax 50mm 2.0, Tamron(AA) 70-150 3.8 with telecoverter but the real kicker was this Sigma 21-35mm 3.5-4.0. All for $10! With a bag and Rokinon CP to boot.

Picture above shot with my Kiron(vivitar) 28mm 2.5 wide open.

Following shots with the sigma both at 21mm, first one wide open at F/3.5 second at F/8.

^Weird.

Also keeping up with the MF lens topic, I just ordered exactly what I needed... 2 more 50mm lenses!

I found a Yashica ML 50/1.7 on Ebay for $35 and it came with a bonus ML 50/2 so I pulled the trigger. I had to pay about $17 for the shipping from Canada and it won't be here until Monday, but I'm excited to try the missing 2 ML 50's from my kit out and see how they compare to my 1.4 :)

Vivitar 75-300mm F/4.5-5.6, does 1:11 - 1:3 Macro.
Nikon F AI-S mount, serial number 77 meaning it was made by Kobori.

Really good actually, most of these are wide open but F/8 is the sweetspot.

Cosina 75-200mm F/4.5-5.3, does 1:10 - 1:4 Macro.
Nikon F AI-S mount. Cosina is by far my favorite lens manufacturer, still looking for their 50mm 1.2!

Really good, most samples are wide open, sweet spot on this one is much sooner at 5.6

Video Sample: http://www.youtube.com …Xdwd9t_E&feature=youtu.be (external link)

Only strange part is that it had this vignette on my M, but in video and on my 10D it worked perfectly.

Took with Zeiss Jena 50mm ƒ2.8 on the 20D. Unfortunately I the aperture mechanism is broken and I can only shoot at 2.8. I tried fixing it, but I think some piece got missing.

I've just bought myself a Helios 44/2.
It's been played around with by a company called Dog Schidt Optiks.

I had a quick walk around last night with mine & here's what I got.

Now you can either love or hate what they do to them, but personally I love it. I love the colours they can add to the flares, or the different option for the optics but you can also get the modded lenses from them without any options.

I think they're mainly aimed at the video market, but you can use it for both.
