Man I cannot wait to mount my Yashica 50 1.9. I have it, and its about an 8 on a 1-10 scale. Glass looks good, the print has some rubbed off spots.
I hope it looks as good on my 550d as it does on you guys 5d hehee

Seems to turn well and feels solid.

Im still waiting on the adapter. :(

And everyday-

I have an adaptall 85-210 OM mount. I posted a picture a few pages back. It has the built in hood as well. It's a pretty decent lens actually. I need to tripod mount it and get some tac sharp shots with it.

And mine was free hahaha

Now that is some painterly bokeh.

Love that shot. Framing and color are saweet.

I ordered a Fotodiox adapter for the Yashica since the cheapo one I ordered is shipping from China and taking forever. Fotodiox one should be here sat, so I can finally shoot some pictures with this damn lens lol.

So ill have two c/y adapters. Have to find another cy lens lol

Canon FD 50mm 1.4 SSC, not really fond of this lens. But I lost my EF adapter so it was the only one I could use, my replacement adapter is coming tomorrow can't wait.

They're around the same price as the takumars, I would go that route instead.

This one was shot at 2.0, it had no contrast. I had to boost it 4 times during post in this sample, and it still wasn't good enough for me. I don't really like the sharpness until 2.0-2.8, 1.4-1.8 it's really poor. (I admit to missing focus a bit on this shot)

I prefer my Cosina 50mm 1.7 and even my cheap sears(ricoh) 50mm 2.0 pancake.

They both outperform it in ever way except for speed, which is kinda a neutral point since I have to step down the FD to be any good. While both of those are spectacular wide open compared to the canon.

^Oddly I've noticed that my Yashica 50/1.4 seems to have less contrast when paired with my M or my X-E1, yet on the 6D shots almost always look good SOOC... not sure why that is, every other lens I have seems to work the same regardless of body (FOV excluded obviously).

Just wondering if maybe the f/1.4 50mm's in general have this problem... idk, I only have the one. All I know is that there are a lot of FD 50/1.4 shots in this thread and they've always looked great to me... maybe you got a bad copy?
