Some of the best images on my computer using older manual lenses were taken using my old 450D. In many ways, I think they are better than images taken with the same lenses on my 7D. I wish now I had kept that old camera. Alan. flickr

edmidlifecrisis Cream of the Crop More info Post edited over 8 years ago by edmidlifecrisis. (2 edits in all) | Apr 29, 2015 09:02 | #7435 Tried a very old Nikkor 135mm f2.8 Non-AI lens on my Canon T3i at MFD which is about 1.5 meters. It is NOT a macro lens. But it rendered the scene pretty nicely I thought. It rained like crazy all night so everything is wet. Had to use manual focus confirm as it wouldn't confirm in viewfinder but after some trial and error got a couple in focus. Stopped down manually one stop I think to f5.6, very narrow DOF. Really nice lens, bulky and heavy though!! IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/s6bcom Ed

hal55 Member 199 posts Likes: 2 Joined Apr 2007 More info | Thanks, yes the 450D is a fine camera even now and in fact I was published here in Australia (national camera magazine - eight page spread) using images taken by it. It's getting well on now but is still in regular use till I eventually work out what to replace it with. Vintage lenses are fun, and more Nikkors are definitely on the horizon.
