Feb 10, 2009 11:29 | #7 Well so far no one has posted a high key image. All of the above images have a high key background which is one of the essentials for a high key image, but contrary to popular opinion overexposing the skin does not automatically make an image a high key image. In fact images with overexposed skin are high contrast not high key.

In fact images with overexposed skin are high contrast not high key. I agree. High Key usually has less saturated colors all around. Even the blacks. So anything that has a strong black/white contrast is usually a high contrast image, not high key. Most of the image, if not all, should be the same tone - all hues should have the same contrast (or lack of). Hope that helps? visit my website -> http://www.nicolepfeifferphotography.com
