Hey guys 'n' girls!
Finally got a couple of shots off - not great, but I was laughing so much I had to post. Perhaps the worst demonstration of flying and nesting I've seen since moving here in 2004. These herons just look so daft up a tree!

Anyway, I can't work out how to embed 4 or more pictures so I'll have to reply to my own thread. (Maybe someone can teach me?)
The first pictures are of where the heron was aiming, the second how he got it completely wrong!
Enjoy.
Oh and I know they're not great pictures - I'm not after C&C, just posting for your amusement!
:D

Here's how our intrepid hero attempted to get in with the crowd...

You're not embedding images here, you're attaching them, and you're not allowed to attach more than two images. (That's because the photos are being stored here in the database here and they take up space and resources.) Read the image posting rules in the sticky at the top of each sharing section (see here for Birds).

You need to get yourself space on some other web site (Smugmug, Pbase and Zenfolio for a fee, Flickr and others are free), and then link to (embed) up to eight of those photos.

Ohhh, that's why I didn't understand....I've got a site for friends/family back in the UK, but the format has been changed so I'll be closing it in the spring.
Have to think about another site I suppose....
Thanks for the info'.

You can also just get a domain name and hosting service. It's really cheap nowdays. You don't even need to put a site on it if your not up to it, just log into the hosting with FTP and treat it like Windows Explorer. Make folders to upload the images to, then just link to the folders and image files here in the forums, or anywhere, like e-mail or on your site. I use Godaddy and it's like $44 a year for 5Gb of space.

Hey C-Loader! Thanks for the info'. I'm actually in two minds now about running a website at all, unless it has highly restricted access. I'll look at "Godaddy" though as storage away from my computer could be good in the long term...
Hmm, this is kinda off thread. Sorry.
