Manfrotto 488RC2 Ball Head fitting/Dismantling

Hi folks,
I have a Manfrotto 488RC2 Ball Head which i'm in the process of selling. Only thing is that it's attached to my Manfrotto tripod and because it's so long since i've used it, I cannot for the life of me work out how to remove it.
I can see three small screws underneath it that will take a flat head screwdriver - i'm assuming it's those i take off as I cant see another way...

Any thoughts please?

Right - back them out (carefully, so as not to lose them) and you'll be able to unscrew the head from the center column.

Thanks Jon. I know i'm appearing a bit dim as I really just cannot remember but would that have been the way I originally put it together... screwing in the head to the centre column and then tightening the 3 srews? Would the screws need taking out completley and finally (I know i'm pushing my luck here), would the 3 srews have been part of the tripod or the ball head?

You do not have to back out the screws entirely, they simply need to no longer make contact with the underside of the head. Lock screws are part of the base that is afixed to the center column.

Back off the screws, lower the center column and lock it, then grab the head and twist off while holding the legs of the tripod.
