Visiting Cape Reinga a week back, which is the top of our State Highway 1 and furthest North the public can visit by road. (North Cape, on the North-East point is slightly further up, but no public access as it's a research station)

So Cape Reinga features a lighthouse, and thousands of visitors a year.
It's quite crazy to witness the green Tasman Sea, collide with the bluer Pacific Ocean, and swirl around offshore.

Cape Reinga at dawn -- with a single Pouhutukawa tree visible off one of the leading cliff faces - very sacred amongst Maori of NZ, where the spirits depart

The wash from large colliding waves can be seen off shore

It's a very rural area, with the closest town being 21km away.
Just a couple bays Eastward is the brilliant Tapotupotu Bay, which offers a cheap government camp ground (DOC), looking Northward from the tip of NZ

Very nice. You couldn't really ask for a more dramatic sky in the first 2. Did you do any kind of color adjustment on those or was the sky really colored that way?

The colours on the last one are so beautiful especially when I'm in cold, wet & even more cold England!

Gorgeous photos, Warren, but then, yours always are. Several wall-hangers in that bunch.

Thanks, the sky was pretty dramatic, but the use of ND grads just emphasised that

Heat not good. Today going to be a muggy 28*C, but humidity in the 90's again
But, at least from today the night lows are getting better. Been 23/24 as a low for the past 4 days. Now going back to a respectable 13-17 :)

Thanks, yeah the casting with the 1.2ND filter does bring a slight bit of red to shots, but I like it.

I know what you mean - I've been living in UK for the past 18 months. It's very miserable when it comes to landscape photography - for the fact all you see is a low flat blanket of grey..

Thanks - yeah basically our dramatic coastlines. Rugged beaches, cliffs, and also nearby have other areas of clear water beaches like these I posted:

Better than the pinky cast you get from cokins!
