thinking of ditching my barely used 5D due to it being a dust magnet.

OP needs to learn the difference between sensor dust and viewfinder dust. Also, it's not that difficult to use a rocket blower every week or so.

It's not on my pictures, it in the eyepiece. It does not go away with rocket blower, usually adds more though when I do use the rocket blower

Does the dust appear to be sharp or a bit fuzzy? If it's fuzzy it's probably on the focusing screen. If it's sharp it's probably on the focus point indicator screen.

Either way, it's just an annoyance, and it won't cause you problems in any functional way.
