Is there any real benefit to an HDMI port?

If you did, then HDMI will give you a better picture, but otherwise, it's completely useless. I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

It was awesome being able to show off pictures in such high quality. as noted above, if you never use a TV to show off your photos you will likely not care to much.
